3 June 2016 – Nine Waves Meeting

Come and join us Friday night at 7:30 pm for a Protogrove Business Meeting.

We’ll be discussing:

  • Bylaws Discussion – We MUST finish up membership and officers this week, and if possible move on to more topics.
  • Protogrove Business – Summer solstice details, plus rituals for the rest of the summer
  • (if time) Writing an Invocation to Armand Bayou – Brainstorming ideas for our new relationship with the bayou where we meet

NOTE: The Bay Area Bridge over I-45 is CLOSED for the next few months. If you typically visit us via 45, allow some extra time for detours!

We MUST finish membership and officers bylaws this week – we lost the whole month of May due to travel and weather and other things, and I don’t want us to fall too far behind. This will be the majority of the meeting, so please come with your brain engaged as much as possible.

If we have time, I’d like to begin brainstorming for our invocation to Armand Bayou. While we haven’t done the trancework yet to determine a name or other characteristics, I think it would be nice to start discussing what makes our little bit of earth special.

If you haven’t been to one of our meetings before, this week is probably not a good first week for you to be here – we’ll be doing a lot of policy and business, and not a lot of learning and socializing. If you’d like to schedule a call with me at some point to chat and talk about what we do, please let me know!

See you there.

20 May 2016 – Nine Waves Meeting

Come and join us Friday night at 7:30 pm for a Protogrove Meeting.
We’ll be discussing:
  • Bylaws Discussion – On Hold due to Absences
  • Introduction to Indo-European Mythology – talking about the original texts, and some comparisons between cultures that ultimately derive down into our ADF practice
  • Writing an Invocation to Armand Bayou – Brainstorming ideas for our new relationship with the bayou where we meet

NOTE: The Bay Area Bridge over I-45 is CLOSED for the next few months. If you typically visit us via 45, allow some extra time for detours!

We’ll be missing Amanda this week, so no Ogham and no Bylaws discussion. Instead, we’re going to branch out into some of the more in-depth studies that go on as part of the ADF cosmology, talk about some of the various cultural identities that make up ADF, and a little about where we can learn more about those sources.
As well, I’d like to begin brainstorming for our invocation to Armand Bayou. While we haven’t done the trancework yet to determine a name or other characteristics, I think it would be nice to start discussing what makes our little bit of earth special.
See you there.

13 May 2016 – Study Group Meeting

Come and join us Friday night at 7:30 pm for a Protogrove Meeting.

We’ll be discussing:
  • The Ogham: Luis
  • Cleansing and Warding – how to cleanse and ward a space
NOTE: The Bay Area Bridge over I-45 is CLOSED for the next few months. If you typically visit us via 45, allow some extra time for detours!

This week’s meeting will be short and sweet – we’ll be missing Jacob, so no book discussion or bylaws discussion. If you have questions or a topic you’d like to discuss, let me know – we’ll probably have time this week to cover it!

See you there.

6 May 2016 – Business Meeting

Come and join us Friday night at 7:30 pm for a Protogrove Meeting.
We’ll be discussing:
  • Protogrove Business – Summer Solstice Ritual Planning
  • Bylaws Discussion – Membership and Officership in the impending grove
  • The Ogham: Beith, the birch tree
  • Grove Spirituality – spirits of nature, ancestors, and deities we might make part of our grove practice
NOTE: The Bay Area Bridge over I-45 is CLOSED for the next few months. If you typically visit us via 45, allow some extra time for detours!
This week’s meeting will involve several different discussions, so we need to start promptly at 7:30. Planning for the summer solstice should be fairly simple (we’ve talked about doing a ritual to Sunne and Thunor for protection from hurricanes again).
The bylaws discussion will likely be the majority of the meeting.
Our grove spirituality discussion will be a continuation of a previous conversation, and thus I expect there to be several suggestions on spirits we could make part of our grove practice.
See you there.
